Estamos Unidos Scholarship

2012-2013

PURPOSE OF OUR SCHOLARSHIP
The EUP Scholarship to Latino/Hispanic students who qualify has been established to motivate and support talented Latino/Hispanic students, who are American citizens or permanent legal non-citizens that reside in the state of Pennsylvania; who aspire or are working to achieve a technical, vocational school, or college education.

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Your application and all supporting materials must be submitted TOGETHER and postmarked NO LATER than JUNE 1, 2012.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Please review the eligibility requirements below to make sure this scholarship opportunity is right for you.
  2. Download and print the pdf application.
  3. Sign all required portions, fill in section 6 and provide the printed application to your financial aid officer for completion of section 7 (pages 5 and 6).
  4. Refer to the checklist on the last page of the application to make sure you have included all required documents and completed all steps necessary.
  5. Submit your completed application according to the instructions on page one of the application.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have a high school diploma or a GED (General Equivalency Diploma); Read #3 below.
  2. Be enrolled at least half time (6 credits) in a regional postsecondary institution (technical, vocational school, or college/university);
  3. Demonstrate academic success — have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 for high school seniors, 3.0 for college students, and GED recipients must score at 2,925 points or above.
  4. Complete the financial aid form by filing the 2011-2012 FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov by March 15, 2011 to calculate financial need. Use 2010 Federal Taxes (1040). The Financial Aid Office at the college you plan to attend or are attending, needs this information to complete Section 7 of this scholarship application.
